Machine Installation

New fibre laser marking systems need careful placement, correct setup and proper operator handover. We handle delivery, installation and commissioning so your machine is ready for production from day one.

Machine Installation

Site Check Before Delivery

Before a new system arrives, we confirm the site conditions that affect performance and safety. That includes available floor space, power supply, extractor routing, lighting, bench height and the handling flow around the machine. In Gauteng workshops, especially in Wadeville, Jet Park and Isando, the quickest delays usually come from a poor power point location or not having the right table ready on time.

We also look at the workpieces you plan to mark. A jewellery workshop needs a different setup from a metal fabrication line, and a small jobbing shop has different handling needs from a high-volume manufacturer. If you are near the coast, humidity and corrosion control matter too, so we will discuss where the machine should sit and how your parts should be stored.

  • Check power, earthing and socket access
  • Confirm bench or stand height and operator space
  • Review part sizes, fixtures and load in or out flow
  • Plan extractor, guarding and access around the unit

Good planning saves time on installation day and helps avoid rework later.

Delivery, Placement and Alignment

Once the site is ready, we arrange delivery and careful placement of the machine. Fibre laser systems need a level position, stable support and enough clearance for the operator, fixtures and any accessory units. We place the equipment where it can be used safely and where maintenance access remains simple.

During placement, we check that the machine is aligned correctly, the working area is clear and the computer or control station is positioned for easy use. This is also the stage where we confirm that cables are protected and that nothing will snag when operators move parts in and out during the shift.

  • Position the machine on a level, stable surface
  • Set up operator access and loading space
  • Route cables neatly and safely
  • Confirm visibility of the work area and controls

On busy sites, we keep the installation practical. No one wants a unit placed too close to a wall or tucked into a corner where the team struggles to load fixtures.

Commissioning and Test Marking

After placement, we commission the machine and confirm that all key functions are working as intended. This includes power-up checks, software communication, axis movement where applicable, marking alignment and focus settings. We then run sample markings on your actual material so we can confirm clarity, depth and repeatability.

For metal parts, the right test mark helps us set the correct contrast and detail without damaging the substrate. For jewellery, we pay close attention to small characters, logos and fine line work. If a customer needs serial numbers or traceability data, we check that the mark remains readable after cleaning, handling or surface finishing.

  • Power-up and function checks
  • Software and control verification
  • Focus setting and beam alignment
  • Sample marking on real parts

If changes are needed, we make them on site so the machine leaves ready for normal production, not just for a demo piece.

Software Setup and Operator Handover

A properly installed machine must also be easy to use. We set up the software, confirm job templates and show your team how to load text, serial numbers, logos and repeat work safely. This step is especially important when more than one operator will use the system, or when shifts change during the week.

We keep the handover practical. Your operators need to know how to start a job, save common settings, check focus, and recognise when a marking issue is coming from the file, the fixture or the material itself. We also cover safe handling around small parts, including jewellery components and loose metal items that can move during marking.

  • Create or verify standard job files
  • Show operators how to load and store work
  • Explain focus, fixture use and marking checks
  • Cover basic troubleshooting steps

Training is part of the installation, not something left for later. That approach helps your team get productive sooner and reduces call-backs.

Training for Local Shops and National Rollouts

We install and train nationwide, from Germiston and Boksburg to Alberton, Kempton Park and further afield. Whether you are opening a new workshop or fitting out several production sites, the installation process is handled with the same attention to detail. The goal is simple: your machine must work properly on the day it goes live and your team must know how to use it.

Wessel Vermaak oversees the business, with support from Zinhle Mashigo, Wynand Vosloo, Keitumetso Phalatse, Tshilidzi Sebego and Ayesha Cassim. That means your project can be handled from planning through to handover with the right people involved. If your site has strict access rules, loading bay times or municipal compliance requirements, we work around those practical limits.

  • Single-site installs for small workshops
  • Multi-site rollouts for manufacturers
  • On-site training for new operators
  • Support for stores, factories and jewellery rooms

We know the pressure of setting up equipment while production deadlines are already waiting.

After-Installation Support and Preventive Care

Installation does not end when the machine switches on. We remain available for remote assistance, sample marking changes, preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs if something goes wrong. In South African workshops, load-shedding, dust and heat can all affect equipment condition, so it is worth building a proper maintenance routine from the start.

We can also assist with fixture design, focus calibration and process optimisation once the machine is in daily use. If your business later moves premises, we can manage site relocation and recommissioning too. For Wadeville Support, Germiston Support and the other local service areas, we keep the response practical and direct.

Use the enquiry form on our contact page if you need a new installation, a second machine, or support after delivery. We will help you plan the setup, confirm the site details and get the system working the way your production line needs it to.

  • Preventive maintenance to protect uptime
  • Remote help for setup or file issues
  • Repairs and spares when needed
  • Relocation and recommissioning for moved sites

A correct installation makes every job after it easier.

Questions we get asked

What do you need before installing a fibre laser marking machine?

We need the site location, available power details, floor space, bench height, access for delivery and a clear idea of the parts you plan to mark. If you already have sample parts, that helps us confirm the setup.

Do you install outside Germiston?

Yes. We are based in Wadeville, Germiston and install nationwide, including Gauteng, the coast and other industrial centres across South Africa.

Do you train operators after installation?

Yes. Operator handover is part of the installation process. We cover software setup, safe loading, focus checks and basic troubleshooting so your team can start work with confidence.

Send serial number marking enquiries.
